Teatro Colón is ready to wow again

The wait is nearly over! Next Monday, 24th of May, the Teatro Colón will be reopening after years of refurbishment. Considered one of the best opera houses in the world in terms of acoustics and design, Teatro Colón was initially opened on 25th of May, 1908, and has seen performances of some of the world’s greats including – Titta Ruffo, Amelita Galli-Curci, Giacomo Lauri-Volpi, Enrico Caruso Zinka Milanov Anna Pavlova, Nijinsky Mercedes Sosa. Plácido Domingo, Ástor Piazzolla, and Luciano Pavarotti. In October 2006 the theatre was closed and refurbishment began. The city now awaits anxiously to see the results of the last four years of work…. and a little preview here.
